Coins on Base: launch and trade
A coin is a token that trades live from its first second on a bonding curve on Base, pump.fun style: a picture or a GIF, a name and a ticker, a live chart, an order book, a chat, and Buy / Sell right in the feed.
Launching one
Create → Coin (/create/token), three steps. 1. The picture: JPEG, PNG or GIF, up to 8 MB, square works best. No video - a feed of autoplaying videos is too heavy to scroll. 2. The name (up to 32 characters), the ticker (2 to 10 capitals or digits) and optional description and links. 3. Launch: one signature on Base for the launch fee + gas (cents), and optionally a first buy right after, at the lowest price the curve will ever quote.
Trading: simple and expert
Each coin has a live page at /token/[chainId]/[address]. SIMPLE mode: dollar presets ($5, $20, $50, $100) to buy, 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% of your balance to sell, a fixed 5% slippage guard, one button. EXPERT mode: the price chart from every trade, the simplified order book, the full trades tape, and a trade panel with slippage (1-10%), price impact, minimum received and the fee. Your choice of mode is remembered on the device.
The order book
A bonding curve has no resting orders, so the order book is read off the curve: for moves of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50%, how much ETH it takes to push the price up (asks) and how much ETH you would get for pushing it down (bids), fees included. It is exact, not an estimate.
Live chat and the feed
Every coin has a chat under its trade panel; posting needs a signed-in wallet, a few messages a minute. New coins appear in the feed as their own card - picture, price, market cap, progress to graduation - with Buy and Sell buttons that open a trade sheet without leaving the feed.
Fees and graduation
1% on every curve trade, half to the protocol and half to the coin's creator. At ~4 ETH raised the curve closes; anyone can then move the liquidity to a Uniswap V2 pool on Base whose LP tokens are burnt (see /help/graduation-and-liquidity).
Risks
Coins are speculative and can lose all their value. Big trades on a young curve move the price a lot (check the price impact in Expert mode). Bots can front-run trades. Launch only what you are allowed to launch where you live.
